This an abstract of a coming article on Tony Lawsons' analysis and critique of main-stream economics. My main point is that the tendency to treat main-stream not as an ideology, but as a normal scientific theory is flawed from a scientific point view. Lawsons analysis (and other critics from the heterodox camp) show clearly how defunct "ecnomics" is from a scientific point of viw - and the logical conclusion is that this is not science, but ideology = politics.
Secondly, in the current crisis - when the main-stream is rather punch-drunk from the crisis it did not predict - it is of extreme importance give it as many upper-cuts as possible - and Lawsons' and others statement that it is not an ideology is dangereous, is not politically innocent.
